A Change for the Architectural Certification program in the precast industry

Over the last couple years, the Precast Concrete Institute (PCI) set out to modify the Architectural Certification Program to develop a consensus-based approach to the certification process. This journey concluded in November 2019 and PCI member will be afforded the luxury of electing which level of certification they will strive for as part of the recertification process. The five levels of certification are AA, AB, AC, AD, and AT. These categories are defined by the producer’s manufacturing and construction abilities. The highest capability category, AA, will require a high level of sophistication of color and finish consistency. As part of the recertification process producer will be required to produce three mockup pieces showcasing their abilities. Here are the examples of the required mockups:
