NPCA professional staff member Kayla Hanson, Director of Technical Services, traveled to Marion and Carbondale, Ill., to conduct two technical presentations for specifiers and academia.

On Sept. 12, Hanson presented Best Practices for Precast Concrete Tank Inspections to an audience of 70 specifiers at the Illinois Environmental Health Association South Chapter Educational Conference. An IL EHA representative requested NPCA’s participation in the conference after attending an NPCA septic tank presentation at the Onsite Wastewater professionals of Illinois Conference earlier in the year.

Additionally, Hanson traveled to Southern Illinois University to conduct a presentation during the ASCE Student Chapter meeting on Sept. 13. The meeting was well-attended with an audience of approximately 35 students and faculty. NPCA’s Foundation scholarships were a hot topic as several students reached out after the meeting to request an application.

On Oct. 2, NPCA professional staff member Claude Goguen, P.E., LEED AP, will continue NPCA’s academia related outreach efforts with a classroom lecture at Trine University.
